In observance of Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11, garbage, recyclable materials, and yard trimmings collection for residential customers will be based on a revised collection schedule. The North Transfer Station will be open from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. The Central Transfer Station, Seminole Road Landfill, and Customer Care call center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11, reopening on Friday, Nov. 12, during normal operating hours.

The East Memorial Drive Revitalization Foundation (EMDRF), a nonprofit, volunteer, citizen-run organization, is working closely with the DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability Department and Commissioner Steve Bradshaw to execute the vision of the Memorial Drive Revitalization Plan.

This fall, WorkSource DeKalb is partnering with Coursera and Google to offer Google Career Certificate scholarships to DeKalb County residents. The scholarships will enable recipients to get on the fast track to in-demand jobs in technology, retail, finance, energy and more. The program allows participants to prepare for a new career by gaining job skills with flexible on-line training. No experience is necessary.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a virtual Parks Citizen Advisory Board Committee meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. The meeting to discuss current park improvements and recreation projects will be conducted via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/85946976280.
