This $3.9 million project was funded by the DeKalb Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), Georgia Department of Transportation and the PATH Foundation. DeKalb County will receive an estimated $388 million in SPLOST revenue over a six-year period to improve county roads, infrastructure, libraries, parks, and public safety. On Nov. 1, a portion of the northbound lane along Briarcliff Road, between Woodlake Drive and North Druid Hills Road, will be closed Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews work to replace 160 linear feet of ductile-iron water pipe. This section of Briarcliff Road will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 12.

On Oct. 17, 2021, a bat was captured on in the 1800 block of Westminister Way and later tested positive for rabies. Georgia is a rabies endemic state and the virus is present all year long. It is not unusual for the county to report several rabies cases each year.
