Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host the second of three information meetings to review DeKalb County’s proposed 2023 Budget today, Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at Tucker-Reid F. Cofer Library, 5234 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA  30084. T.J. Siegler, director of the Office of Management and Budget, will be on hand to present and answer questions.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will host a hiking stick workshop on Saturday, Feb. 25, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center,3787 Klondike Rd, Stonecrest, GA. Participants, ages 13 and up, are encouraged to join Ranger Rick for a hands-on workshop to learn how to carve their very own hiking stick to use on the next adventure to the preserve. All tools and materials will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ponce De Leon Place, between Plainview Street and Clairemont Avenue, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, to facilitate the point repair on a sanitary sewer line at 614 Ponce De Leon Place. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Lamont Drive, between Clairemont Avenue and Vidal Boulevard, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, to facilitate the point repair on a sanitary sewer line at 208 Lamont Drive. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Canby Lane, between Wesley Chapel Road and the cul de sac, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, to facilitate the point repair on a sanitary sewer line at 4177 Canby Lane. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.
