The Gresham Recreation Center will host a Black History Month program on Thursday, Feb. 22, 5:30 p.m. at the Gresham Recreation Center, 3113 Gresham Road, Atlanta, Ga. Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of African Americans while reflecting on their contributions throughout the United States. This program will focus on recognizing African American men and women in history and feature poetry, spoken word, stepping and dance performances.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, the DeKalb Industrial Way lane closure will be extended from Lawrenceville Highway to Irvin Way. This lane closure is necessary as crews make progress in replacing the 30-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) water main that is part of the Scott Boulevard Water Main Replacement Project Phase II.

Due to forecasted cold weather, DeKalb County will open five warming centers for residents on Mon., Feb. 5, Tues., Feb. 6, and Wed., Feb. 7, starting at 8 p.m. to use. Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.
