The DeKalb County Police Department will be increasing visibility and patrols in neighborhoods near Intrenchment Creek. These include neighborhoods in the vicinity of Fayetteville Road, Key Road and Constitution Road. The DeKalb County Police Department prioritizes the safety of our community.

DeKalb County will open the following warming centers for residents to use on Friday, Jan. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 22, beginning at 8 p.m. Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.

DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson recently announced a Legislative Town Hall meeting with DeKalb County Legislators scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Lou Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road, Stonecrest, Ga. 30038 at 6:30 p.m. This is the first town hall meeting hosted by the District 5 office for 2023. The purpose of the town hall meeting is to discuss legislative initiatives and priorities for the 2023 Legislative Session.

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will provide the keynote address at the graduation celebration honoring DUI Court Program graduates on Jan. 19, 2023. The graduation program starts at 3:00 p.m. at 3630 Camp Circle, Courthouse Complex, Courtroom B-11. “The DeKalb County DUI Court Program was started by Judge Alvin T. Wong and Judge Tony DelCampo and accepted the first participant in October 2004,” said Judge Kimberly Anderson.

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host three community information meetings to review DeKalb County’s proposed 2023 Budget. T.J. Siegler, Director, Office of Management and Budget will be on hand to present and answer questions. “As the newly appointed Chair of the Finance, Audit and Budget (FAB) Committee,” said Commissioner Bradshaw. “I believe it is a good exercise to hold community meetings across the county affording constituents an opportunity to engage in the budget process.”
