Due to forecasted severe weather including the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds, heavy rain and hail. DeKalb County will open the following four severe weather centers for residents on Sat., Mar. 15, starting at 8 p.m. Frontline Response International has been contracted to serve individuals who need assistance during extreme weather conditions. Hot meals, beds, and case management services are centralized at Frontline. DeKalb offers transportation services from all its severe weather centers to Frontline for individuals who wish to take advantage of those centralized services.

On Tuesday, March 18, DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews will require lane closures on North Druid Hills Road, between Spring Creek Road and Willivee Drive to complete restoration work after installing a new water main. This work will take place on Tuesday, March 18, through Wednesday, March 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days for road paving, weather permitting.

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continue on Mon., Mar.17, with the launch of the Salem Road Water Main Replacement Project. Crews will replace 1,350 linear feet of water lines with new 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP). This project is expected to last 6 weeks (March 2025 to April 2025), barring any weather delays.
