DeKalb County is opening its doors to job seekers with a countywide job fair on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, located at 495 N. Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, GA. DeKalb County’s Office of the CEO announced the event, emphasizing its role in building DeKalb’s future through workforce development. “This job fair is one of the ways we’re re-imagining DeKalb,” said Cochran-Johnson. “It is one of the ways we are investing in people and helping them thrive.”

Beginning on Tues., July 1, 2025, through Tues. July 29, 2025, Black Fox Dr., NE, will be closed to through traffic between Deer Park Rd., NE, and Council Bluff Dr., NE, for an emergency repair to storm drain pipe. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

DeKalb County has launched the Peaceful Protest Protocol (P3), a comprehensive guide to help residents plan and participate in protests safely, lawfully, and effectively while protecting their First Amendment rights. The P3 resource was developed in collaboration with the Office of the CEO’s Communications Department, DCTV, and public safety officials to empower civic engagement and support community voices. It includes step-by-step guidance on planning a protest, understanding legal requirements, obtaining permits, and maintaining safety during demonstrations.

DeKalb County has completed the purchase of 4380 Memorial Drive, a key property in South DeKalb that spans 24 acres and includes 200,000 square feet of existing buildings. The $18,095,000 acquisition was financed through a 10-year, tax-exempt bond issued by the DeKalb Urban Redevelopment Authority.

DeKalb County is delaying the implementation of the 10% water and sewer rate increase originally approved to begin on July 1, 2025, as the County finalizes its contract with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, its customer advocate partner, and completes public education materials. The County believes it is important for the contract to be fully executed before the rate increase goes into effect and for sufficient time to work through processes in partnership with the Urban League to ensure seamless implementation of the program.
