DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson, in his role as the District 3 Commissioner and immediate past president of the National Association of Counties, attended the celebration of the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law on August 16th. The IRA, aims to reduce the federal deficit, cut carbon emissions and address several issues related to healthcare such as lowering the costs of prescription drugs.

Commissioner Bradshaw, in collaboration with Atlanta VA HealthCare System, AMVETS Post 44, Georgia Grace and NAACP DeKalb County Branch, DeKalb Human Services and Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Departments will provide onsite resources and information about housing, VA benefits, caregiver, trauma recovery, employment and training, mental health, telehealth and women’s wellness programs.

Today, DeKalb County announced it has re-opened the county’s program to provide relief to tenants and landlords affected by the pandemic. To date, TLAC has distributed $52.8 million for rent and utilities to almost 4,900 DeKalb families.
