DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs is partnering with Netball America - Be An Inspiration GoGirlGo! Atlanta to host a kick-off registration event on September 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.at Redan Recreation Center, 1839 Phillips Road, Lithonia, GA.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance will host a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserves origin on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Davidson - Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, 3787 Klondike Rd, Stonecrest, GA.

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has released the 2022 Drinking Water Quality Report, also referred to as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). DWM continues to surpass all federal and state drinking water quality standards, providing DeKalb County customers with high-quality drinking water.

In observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5, garbage, recyclable materials and yard trimmings collection for residential customers will be based on a revised schedule. The DeKalb County Charter Review Commission will be holding its first public hearing on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be held in person at the Manuel J. Maloof Center,1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. Social distancing will be observed and masks are required. Free parking is available at the DeKalb County Courthouse parking lot for this evening event. The hearing will also be broadcast on DCTV’s UStream channel.
