County Clerk’s Office

Clerk’s Office Functions

The County Clerk is one of the oldest public service roles, historically serving as the record keeper and direct link between citizens and government. Today, the DeKalb County Clerk’s Office continues that tradition by maintaining accurate records, supporting the legislative process, and ensuring transparency in county operations.

The Clerk’s Office is responsible for:

  • Recording and preserving official minutes of Commission and Committee meetings
  • Managing Commission- and CEO-approved contracts and related records
  • Assisting with public  research requests
  • Supporting the Board of Commissioners in legislative duties, including updates to the County Code of Laws
