The First Source Ordinance is a public regulation that requires contractors and beneficiaries to make a good faith effort to hire DeKalb residents for 50 percent of all jobs using the First Source Registry (candidate database).
WorkSource DeKalb (WSD) has a First Source Registry of qualified and trained DeKalb County residents. WSD can assist contractors and beneficiaries with choosing the right candidate using the First Source Registry to meet their company’s human capital needs.
Summary of Services
Through a partnership with the DeKalb County Court – Diversion Programs, WorkSource DeKalb aims to reduce the recidivism rate of youth in DeKalb County. During this collaborative program, participants will receive life and soft skills training, complete community service projects and participate in a paid internship.
WorkSource DeKalb (WSD) – Youth Services Program is recruiting and enrolling DeKalb County youth for its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, 2014 (WIOA) Youth Program.
The program goal is to enroll 100-150 youth participants with a specific focus on out of school youth who are between the ages of 16-24.
