The DeKalb County Human Services Department is recruiting volunteers to participate in their tutoring program designed to help DeKalb students improve their reading skills. Informational Sessions will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at 7 p.m. via Zoom to provide more information to the public about the program.

The Board of Ethics has voted to postpone its regularly scheduled meeting date of Sept. 16, 2021, to Sept. 23, 2021. The Board of Ethics will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2021, via Zoom. DeKalb County Government is honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack by partnering with local faith leaders to distribute 4,100 boxes of produce and chicken on Friday, Sept. 10, and Saturday, Sept. 11. “By serving our neighbors threatened by food insecurity, we are honoring the memory of those brave men and women who lost their lives on 9/11,” DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond said.
