DeKalb County Super District 7 Commissioner LaDena Bolton, in partnership with Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry, will host a Central Region Townhall on Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hairston Crossing Library, 4911 Redan Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30088. Residents of the Central Region are invited to join to receive county updates, connect with elected leadership, and share feedback on community priorities.

Cats tested positive near Doraville and St. Mountain. Georgia is a rabies endemic state, and the virus is present all year long. It is not unusual for the county to report several rabies cases each year. Residents should make sure pets are up to date for preventative vaccination and should eliminate outdoor feeding stations and access to garbage cans. Anyone who has been bitten or scratched by an animal should seek medical attention immediately.

DeKalb County crews have restored water service to customers impacted by the 10” broken water main damaged by contractors working near the intersection of Terry Mill Road and Glenwood Road. Crews are still in the area completing repairs. Traffic controls are in place and motorists are asked to please avoid the area if possible and expect traffic delays.

The DeKalb County Board of Ethics will conduct its Regular Public Meeting on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Note, in observance of Juneteenth, the meeting is on Wednesday. The meeting will be held at the 178 Sams Street, Room A1201 - A & B, Decatur, GA 30030.

DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections Approve Emergency Polling Place Relocations Due to Ongoing DeKalb County School Construction. DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) is notifying approximately 7,000 voters about two temporary polling location changes related to the upcoming special election for the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) on June 17.
