DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews have repaired a broken 12-inch-diameter water main on South Candler Street near Kirk Road and water has been restored. The break, which was caused by an uprooted tree and affected about a dozen residences, was completed at approximately 1 a.m.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with Live Thrive will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for Live Thrive's CHaRM DeKalb on June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Belvedere Park, 1221 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Ga. Members of the public are invited to join the ceremony. For over a decade, Live Thrive has been a champion of sustainable practices. The new facility will operate on an expansive 8-acre site and will offer essential recycling and reuse services for the community.

Midway Road, between Deerwood Road and Oldfield Road, will be closed to through-traffic 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 17 to Friday, June 21 to facilitate mainline Cured-in-Place-Pipe (CIPP) work at 2518 Midway Rd., Decatur, Ga. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Bottled water will again be distributed today for DeKalb County residents who have been affected by the City of Atlanta’s water main breaks. One case of water per household will be distributed beginning at 1 p.m. today, June 3, at the Atlanta-DeKalb Human Services Complex, 30 Warren Street, Atlanta.

One case of water per household will be distributed beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Atlanta-DeKalb Human Services Complex, 30 Warren Street, Atlanta. Representatives from the DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management, Department of Human Services and Fire Rescue and Police Department are coordinating the distribution.
