DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and members of her Executive Cabinet hosted the 2025 Third Quarter Town Hall on October 29 at the Woodruff Health Science Center Administration Building. Residents joined both in person and online to hear updates on key priorities under the administration’s “DeKalb Reimagined” vision. During the event, CEO Cochran-Johnson shared progress from her first eight months in office, highlighting advancements across infrastructure, economic development, housing, public safety, and technology.

As a result of infrastructure upgrades being completed on Columbia Woods Dr. and Toney Dr., road closures will be extended through Dec. 10. Detour signage will be installed to direct traffic around the affected areas. These dates are subject to change based on weather conditions. Road closure and detour signs will be placed during the road closure to advise motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will hold a second virtual community meeting for the Panola Road Water Main Replacement Project on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/86950213231. If you attended the first meeting held earlier this month, it is not necessary to attend this one, as the same information will be presented.

DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson has appointed Sarah Galica, Vice President of Transportation at The Home Depot, to serve as DeKalb’s newest representative on the MARTA Board of Directors. “I’m thrilled to appoint a highly qualified individual who shares my passion for the expansion of transit,” said CEO Cochran-Johnson. “Over the next several years, DeKalb will make major moves toward advancing mass transit as we prepare for the region’s future. This appointee brings both technical expertise and a deep commitment to public service that will help guide that vision forward.”
