Construction to install new water lines

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continue on Monday, Oct. 16, with the launch of the San Gabriel Water Line Replacement Project.

Crews will replace approximately 10,000 linear feet of crumbling water lines with new 8-inch- and 12-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along San Gabriel. This line repair project is expected to last approximately 12 months (October 2023 to November 2024), barring any weather delays.

Normal construction hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. An increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours should be expected.
