Construction to install new diameter water line system

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continues on Monday, Oct. 3, with the launch of the Reindeer Drive Phase 2 Water Line Replacement Project.

Crews will replace 17,400 linear feet (Shepherds Lane) and 15,800 linear feet (Woodland Hills) of crumbling water lines with new 8-inch- and 12-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along Reindeer Drive. This line repair project is expected to last approximately 14 months (October 2022 to December 2023), barring any weather delays.

Normal construction hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. An increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours should be expected.
