A dangerous storm system, including tornadoes, damaging winds, heavy rain, and hail, is expected to impact DeKalb County overnight. Residents are urged to take immediate precautions.

 

  • Stay Weather Aware – Charge devices and monitor emergency alerts.
  • Have a Safety Plan – Identify a safe space in your home.
  • Prepare for Power Outages – Gather flashlights, batteries, and essentials.
  • Avoid Travel Overnight – Road conditions may become dangerous.
  • Seek Shelter if Needed – Severe weather centers opened at 8 PM.

 

Severe Weather Centers Open in DeKalb County

To ensure safety, DeKalb County is opening four severe weather centers on Saturday, March 15, at 8 PM:

  • Frontline Response International – 2585 Gresham Road, Atlanta, GA 30316
  • North DeKalb Senior/Community Center – 3393 Malone Drive, Chamblee, GA 30341
  • Mason Mill Recreation Center – 1340 McConnell Dr., Decatur, GA 30033
  • Exchange Park Intergenerational Center – 2771 Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30034

 

Transportation Assistance to Frontline Response International

Transportation will be available from designated pickup locations across DeKalb County.

 

Emergency Services & Assistance:

  • Individuals needing emergency shelter, meals, or case management will be assisted at Frontline Response International.
  • Residents requiring homelessness assistance can contact DeKalb County Coordinated Entry at (404) 687-3500.
