DeKalb to Host Memorial Drive Community Rebranding Initiative Public Meeting

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw, in conjunction with the DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability Department and Community Development Department, is hosting a public meeting on the Memorial Drive Community Rebranding Initiative.

The rebranding of Memorial Drive was one of the recommendations of the Memorial Drive Revitalization Corridor Plan, which started in 2019 and was adopted by the Board of Commissioners in 2020.  

The purpose of this rebranding community project to help change the public perception of the area by giving the area an identity and sense of place.

The county is soliciting public input so that the branding can reflect the makeup of the community.

“It is important to me to keep the public involved in the revitalization efforts of the Memorial Drive Corridor,” said Commissioner Bradshaw. “This meeting serves as a reminder that we all are in the foxhole together as we work on economic revitalizing the corridor.”

Various rebranding proposals will be presented during the public meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb Conference Center, located on the campus of Georgia Piedmont Technical College, at 495 N Indian Creek Drive.

A virtual option will also be available via Zoom.
