DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections Announces Official and Complete Municipal General/Special Election Results

After certifying the Nov. 4 Municipal General/Special Election results, the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) and DeKalb Voter Registration & Elections (VRE) announce early voting details for the Dec. 2 runoff elections, which will take place Nov. 22–26 at five locations across DeKalb County.

Based on the certified election results, the following three contests will head to a runoff election in DeKalb County: 

  • Atlanta Board of Education Member, District 8, At Large
  • Atlanta City Council Member District 7
  • Stonecrest City Councilmember, District Post 5

 

“DeKalb voters continue to demonstrate their commitment to democracy,” said VRE Director Keisha L. Smith. “We’re encouraged by this year’s strong turnout and grateful to our voters, poll workers, and staff who make the process smooth and secure. The increase we’ve seen reflects growing community engagement across our cities and underscores the importance of every election.”

Note: Early voting at Stonecrest Library begins Sunday, Nov. 23, rather than Saturday, Nov. 22.

Absentee Voting

Voters may request an absentee ballot for the December Municipal General Runoff through Nov. 21. Absentee ballots may be hand-delivered to the DeKalb VRE Office during regular hours or to any of the early voting locations listed above.

 

Election Day Information for Atlanta-DeKalb Voters

Several precincts within the City of Atlanta portion of DeKalb County will vote at municipal polling places for this runoff only. Impacted voters will receive mailed notifications. Voters who do not reside within Atlanta city limits are not eligible to participate in the runoff. All other voters in the City of Atlanta and in Stonecrest’s District 5 will vote at their usual precincts. While all other precincts in DeKalb will close at 7 p.m., Atlanta precincts will close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.
