UPDATE - 1:15 P.M.
DeKalb County work crews arrived at midnight this morning to begin preparation for the winter weather event today. The work crews will work 16-hour shifts until Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. when weather conditions are expected to improve.
Activity updates:
- Roads and Drainage
- Staff have responded to 16 calls reporting ice.
- The rain that has begun to fall only affects material composition. Calcium chloride will be added to the to the distribution mix as temperature drops.
- Coordination between Roads and Drainage, Fire Rescue, Police and Human services is being done through 911 dispatch.

- Received 11 calls for assistance.
- Battalion Chief is at E911 Dispatch triaging calls.
- Four Tahoe vehicles with two person crews are in service to assist with trees and wires down calls.
- Two ambulances are operating with snow chains.

- Human Services
- Currently, 222 homeless guests are housed at Frontline facilities. Capacity for 79 additional beds.
- Guests are provided meals, hygiene products and other supplies.
