DeKalb County CEO Michael L. Thurmond and The Board of Commissioners will host a Juneteenth Concert featuring El Debarge, with a performance by BRICK featuring Jimmy Brown on Saturday, June 15 beginning at 6 p.m. at Rainbow Park Amphitheater, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, Ga.
To ensure the safety of event attendees, weapons (guns, knives, pepper spray, tasers, etc.) and pets that are not service animals, are prohibited.
The Juneteenth Concert is a sold-out event.
In 2020, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted to make Juneteenth an annual holiday in DeKalb County. DeKalb County Government has recognized June 19 as a paid holiday for DeKalb County employees since 2021.
