DeKalb County to Host Dive into DeKalb Back-to-School Celebration

DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry, will host Dive into DeKalb, a back-to-school resource pool party and movie night on Thursday, July 30, at N.H. Scott Pool, 2230 Tilson Road, Decatur, GA. The community resource fair will take place from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by swimming and a movie beginning at dusk.

The event is designed to give families one final “splash” of summer while making county resources more accessible, engaging and fun. Families will have an opportunity to learn about school-readiness services, recreation programs, health services, library resources, housing assistance and other programs available throughout DeKalb County.

“Dive into DeKalb is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy one last splash of summer while connecting with valuable programs and resources that can help them prepare for a successful school year,” said DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Director Christopher Bass. “We are proud to partner with Commissioner Ted Terry to provide a fun, welcoming and informative experience for DeKalb County families.”

Entry will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the facility reaches capacity. Complimentary pizza, popcorn, frozen desserts, water and other beverages will be available while supplies last.
