DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Cochran-Johnson delivered her inaugural Employee State of the County address to more than 1,000 DeKalb County employees and stakeholders. CEO Cochran-Johnson outlined her bold vision for “reimagining DeKalb.”

The Employee State of the County was the first of its kind in DeKalb’s history. Employees were given the opportunity to hear directly from CEO Cochran-Johnson about what has been done and what is next for the County.

She outlined her strategy to achieve the County’s goals and shared information on new benefit programs such as the DeKalb Employee First-Time Homebuyer Program, Elder Care Leave and the Educational Reimbursement Program. CEO Jochran-Johnson also participated in a fireside chat with Chief Communications Officer, Dionna Smith, and answered questions submitted by employees.

Chief Operations Officer, Zach Williams, encouraged employees to represent their departments and connect with colleagues, which fostered an atmosphere of excitement and comradery. The program was available via livestream on DCTV’s Ustream channel to those who were unable to attend in person.

“You are more than your job title”, said CEO Cochran-Johnson. “You are part of a movement. You are part of a family; you are part of a community… everyone matters. This is our family. And in my administration, no one gets left behind.”
