On Saturday, July 29, Commissioner Steve Bradshaw, in partnership with Clarkston Mayor Beverly Burks and Dr. Joyce Morley, DeKalb School District Board member, Pastor Karl D. Moore and First Lady Angela Moore will host the 3rd Annual Back-to-School event with giveaways, health screenings, vaccinations, and more.

The event will be at Clarkston First Baptist Church, 3999 Church Street, Clarkston, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“I am thrilled be able to for a third year provide back to school resources to DeKalb students,” said Commissioner Bradshaw. “DeKalb families continue to deal with the cost of living going up. I along with my co-host, sponsors, partners, and volunteers have one focus and that is giving much needed school supplies and other resources to help children and families.”

Commissioner Bradshaw has arranged for several resources to include free car seats, health screenings, school vaccines, hypertension and diabetic screening, CPR training, and other resources.

“I am grateful for the partnerships, and many sponsors and volunteers that have collaborated with my office to plan for an exciting event,” said Commissioner Bradshaw. “I look forward to seeing DeKalb school kids and parents on Saturday for a fun event.”

Last year’s event distributed over 1,000 backpacks. Commissioner Bradshaw plans to distribute another 1,000 backpacks on Saturday. The event is open to all.

While supplies last, one backpack per child present or one backpack per parent with no child present.
