Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson to Host Countywide Voter Registration Call to Action

National Voter Registration Day event being held in partnership with Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc. 

On Sept. 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson will host a countywide Voter Registration Call to Action at the Lou Walker Senior Center, in honor of National Voter Registration Day. 

The event is organized by the Decatur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., in partnership with Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson and several local Get Out the Vote partners. This initiative seeks to prepare DeKalb County citizens for the upcoming 2024 election, equipping voters with essential information on how to make their voices heard. 

The event will highlight: 

 • Key facts every voter needs to know about Election 2024 

 • Important dates and voting options 

 • The critical stakes of this election 

 • Strategies to motivate and engage young voters 

“This is a critical time for voters to become engaged, and we are dedicated to making sure our community has the tools and resources they need to participate fully in the democratic process,” said Commissioner Davis Johnson. 

This day-long event is part of a broader effort to boost voter registration, increase voter awareness, and empower DeKalb County residents to exercise their civic duty.
