DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson invites the residents of DeKalb District 3 to the 20th Annual Community Empowerment Session (Town Hall) Thursday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m. at DeKalb Memorial Park, 353 Wilkinson Drive, SE. Atlanta, GA 30317.

Commissioner Larry Johnson appropriated $1.4 million from the American Rescue Plan to various community-based organizations to assist with mortgage, rent, utilities, food and water bill assistance. This year’s theme is District 3 CARES.  This empowerment session will allow residents an opportunity to gain insight on how they can apply for assistance and connect with some of the organizations on-site.

“There isn’t a better time that I can think of than to have our residents and community-based organizations come together to see how the residents of District 3 can get some relief,” said Commissioner Larry Johnson.  “We are still dealing with COVID-19; therefore, I am committed to doing my part by bringing the resources to the people.”

There is also an opportunity to engage one on one with various county resources face-to-face and get questions and concerns answered.
