DeKalb County Fire Rescue(DCFR) presents its Blazing Brave Girls Camp, a free, one-day experience for high school girls (ages 14-18) to explore firefighting through hands-on activities.
Join DCFR on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Academy, 3161 Warren Road, Decatur, GA 30034. This exciting program aims to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills while exposing young women to the rewarding career of firefighting.
Participants can expect a fun-filled day that provides valuable insight into the firefighting profession. Activities will include quick dress in firefighter gear, “hands only” CPR training, ladder climbing, use of a fire hose, and more. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to connect with experienced female firefighters who will share their journeys.
“We want to inspire young women to consider careers in firefighting and public safety,” said Darnell Fullum, Fire Chief of DeKalb County Fire Rescue. “This camp is about empowerment, confidence, and showing these young women that they are capable of anything.”
