Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continue Monday, May 9, with the launch of the Reindeer Drive Water Line Replacement Project. Crews will replace 22,000 linear feet of crumbling water lines with new six-, eight- and 16-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along Reindeer Drive. This line repair project is expected to last approximately 12 months (May 2022 to April 2023), barring any weather delays.

This historical event will feature award-winning musician Jennifer Holliday as well as live music from other various recording artist and food vendors. Patrons must pick up free tickets from the Porter Sandford III Performing Arts Center’s box office beginning May 9, Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are served on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum of two per patron.

The DeKalb Human Services Department’s Office of Youth Services is accepting applications for its 2022 Sights N’ Sounds Program, designed to provide DeKalb high school students with exposure to the film, art, music production and recording industries. The program, which will offer workshops and hands-on experiences to encourage youth to pursue careers in the entertainment field, will be held in partnership with the DeKalb Entertainment Commission and Plug ATL, a local studio production company.
