Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County will continue in June with the launch of the Scott Boulevard Phase II Water Main Replacement Project. Crews will replace 10,000 linear feet of crumbling water lines with new 30-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along DeKalb Industrial Boulevard. This water main replacement project is expected to last approximately 18 months (June 2023 to December 2024), barring any weather delays.

The DeKalb County Charter Review Commission will be meeting Wednesday, March 29 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in person at the Manuel J. Maloof Center,1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. Free parking is available at the DeKalb County Courthouse parking lot for this evening event.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will host several Easter Egg Hunt events at various recreation centers on April 1 and April 8. All events are free and will include face painting, games, and giveaways. As part of its ongoing Bicentennial festivities, DeKalb County Government will celebrate DeKalb Day at the state capitol on Thursday, March 23, at noon. The celebration will include the presentation of resolution by the State House and State Senate.

DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold an official opening ceremony for Pendergrast Park and a newly installed playground. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Pendergrast Park,1996 Chrysler Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.
