The DeKalb-Peachtree Airport Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 10, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/84958022051. On Thursday, October 6th at 6:30 p.m., DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson will host an in-person town hall meeting “A Candid Conversation About Heavy Rail to Stonecrest” at Stonecrest Library, 3123 Klondike Road, Stonecrest, Georgia 30038. The town hall meeting will feature DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond, U.S. Congressman Hank Johnson, Commissioner Larry Johnson, Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, Stonecrest Mayor Jazzmin Cobble, MARTA Interim CEO Collie Greenwood, and DeKalb County Pastor’s Christian Alliance Chair, Pastor Lee May.

DeKalb County’s Hamilton Recreation Center will host a Teen Scene Gamers Edition program on Friday, Oct. 21, located at 3263 Chapel Street, Scottdale, Ga 30079, from 7 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This free program is for youth ages 13 - 16. The program will include games, food, music and more. Pre-Registration is limited this year and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

DeKalb County’s Hamilton Recreation Center will host a Parents Night Out and Skate Night program on Friday, Oct. 14, located at 3263 Chapel Street, Scottdale, Ga 30079, from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Parents Night Out program offers a safe, fun environment for children to spend an evening while parents enjoy a little time to themselves.

Fisher Trail NE, between Imperial Drive NE and Eldorado Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, October 12, to facilitate repair on a sanitary sewer line in front of 2102 Fisher Trail NE. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.
