DeKalb County Poll Officials play a vital role in ensuring fair and smooth elections.

DeKalb County Poll Officials play a vital role in supporting fair, accurate, and efficient elections for the community. Serving at polling locations across the county, Poll Officials help guide voters through the process, operate election equipment, and uphold established procedures that protect the integrity of each election. Their work helps ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate in a process that is organized, accessible, and conducted with care.

Poll Official Positions
  • Poll Manager: Oversees the precinct, ensuring compliance with Georgia election law and DeKalb County election procedures. Serves as the subject matter expert for all policies and procedures.
  • Assistant Manager: Supports the Poll Manager and serves as a backup, also ensuring compliance with election rules and procedures.
  • Check-In Clerk: Verifies voter eligibility and assists voters at the ballot marking device.
  • Admin/Monitor Clerk: Confirms all voters return their voter cards before voting and issues “I VOTED” stickers.

We need poll workers for every election.

Poll Officials play a key role in supporting safe, accurate, and efficient elections in DeKalb County. Selected officials are required to complete training on policies, procedures, and voting equipment, assist with precinct setup prior to Election Day, and serve at their assigned polling location beginning at 5:30 a.m. until polls close. Poll Officials are compensated for their service.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • U.S. citizen
  • Resident of or employed in DeKalb County*
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Not a candidate or relative of a candidate in the assigned poll
  • Does not hold public office
  • Able to meet all training and performance requirements

*Waivers from other counties are not accepted at this time.
