457b Plan - Supplemental Retirement Savings
DeKalb County sponsors a 457b plan allowing employees to make additional retirement savings contributions.
Plan Features
- Eligibility: Any active DeKalb County employee
- Contributions: Pre-tax or Roth (after-tax) options
- Vesting: Immediate – all contributions are yours right away
- Investment Options: Mutual funds selected by participant
- Distributions: Available after termination or retirement
- Rollovers: Optional transfers to other retirement plans or IRAs

- Contributions: County pays 3.0% of your salary each pay period
- Cost to You: $0 - fully funded by DeKalb County
- Vesting: 3 years of service required
- Investment: You direct investments in available mutual funds
- Distributions: Available after termination or retirement (if vested)
