Facilities Management Divisions

The Facilities Management Department ensures county buildings, parking, and infrastructure are safe, functional, and efficiently maintained.

Our team provides a full range of services, from building maintenance to construction project management, across more than 4.8 million square feet of county facilities.

 

Architectural & Engineering Division

Our Architectural & Engineering Division provides comprehensive construction project management, including:

  • New construction, renovations, and relocations
  • Planning, budgeting, and computer-aided design support
  • Coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Ongoing project monitoring and updates for department directors and stakeholders

We ensure every project meets departmental goals, stays on schedule, and is completed efficiently.

Operations & Maintenance Division

The Operations & Maintenance Division keeps all county buildings fully functional with 24/7 support for:

  • Plumbing: water supply lines, backflow preventers, and sewer systems
  • Electrical: building and exterior lighting, emergency generators, Keyscan Access Management, fire alarms, and elevators
  • HVAC: chillers, rooftop and window units, and climate control via the Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Building Renovation & Carpentry: wall, floor, door repairs, roofing, painting, fire extinguisher maintenance, and small renovation projects

Our team of skilled technicians, including plumbers, electricians, HVAC specialists, carpenters, locksmiths, and maintenance coordinators, is on call for emergencies and weekend support.

Facilities Management seeks cost-effective solutions without compromising building performance. Recent projects include:

  • LED retrofits at 4380 Memorial Drive parking lot and Trinity Parking Deck
  • Significant energy savings – approximately 66% – and rebates from Georgia Power.
Administrative Division

The Administrative Division provides the following services:

  • Provides central mailroom services for the entire county: Monthly volume includes 20,000 - 30,000 pieces of outgoing mail, 15,000 - 20,000 pieces of incoming mail, 200-300 packages, and 5,000 pieces of interoffice mail.
  • Manages all county parking lots: Includes parking lots for both the general public and county employees
  • Handles county real estate property leases and purchases
Environmental Division

The Environmental Division manages custodial service contracts for all county buildings; including disaster cleanup services.
