Super District 7 Commissioner LaDena Bolton Announces Beautification Grant Program to Empower Neighborhoods Across Super District 7 of DeKalb County
Super District 7 Commissioner Dr. LaDena Bolton, in partnership with the DeKalb County Community Development Department, proudly announces the launch of the Super District 7 Beautification Grant Program, an initiative designed to enhance the visual appeal, safety, and livability of neighborhoods throughout District 7.
The Super District 7 Beautification Grant Program provides funding between $1,000 and $5,000 to improve shared community spaces. As stated in the program overview, The Beautification Grant Program provides funding to HOAs, civic organizations, and residents to enhance the visual appeal and livability of communities across DeKalb County Super District 7.
Commissioner Bolton emphasized that this initiative reflects her commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and empowering families through community‑driven improvements. The program will be administered by the DeKalb County Community Development Department. The application period will be 30 days starting on August 3, 2026 and concluding on September 3, 2026.
Eligible Projects:
The grant supports a wide range of beautification efforts, including, but not limited to:
- Landscaping & Greenery - Tree planting, garden beds, native plants.
- Lighting & Safety Enhancements - Decorative or safety lighting.
- Murals & Public Art - Community‑approved art installations.
- Pathway & Entrance Improvements - Walkways, signage, sidewalk enhancements.
- Community Common Areas - Benches, trash receptacles, community boards.
- Beautification Events - Organized community improvement projects.
How the Grant Works:
Applicants may apply during the 30‑day open application window. Awards are determined based on project scope, available funding, and the potential for greatest community impact, including resident benefit, safety improvements, environmental value, and long‑term sustainability. Projects that deliver the strongest, most measurable benefit to residents will receive priority consideration. Additionally, projects WILL NOT be awarded on a “first come,” ”first served” basis.
Approved applicants must complete the County’s iSupplier registration, identify a vendor to complete the project, and manage the execution of the project. Expenditures paid by the applicants will be reimbursed by the Community Development Department only after confirmation has been received confirming completion of the subject project.

- Homeowners’ Associations
- Civic or Neighborhood Organizations
- Private citizens representing their community
All applicants must be **residents of District 7** and projects must be located in communal or
shared‑use spaces.
