DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance encourage visitors to enjoy the springtime at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve and to park in additional designated areas. When visiting the Davidson- Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, located 3787 Klondike Rd, Stonecrest, GA 30038, patrons are encouraged to “Leave No Trace” during trips to the nature preserve by treading lightly and staying on the bare granite.

Meadowvale Drive NE, between Abby Lane NE and Marann Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, to 11 p.m. Thursday, April 8, to facilitate the filming of Powerpuff Girls, at 2220 Meadowvale Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Commissioner Ted Terry to Hold ‘Talks with Ted’ Virtual Community Meeting. DeKalb County Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry invites residents to join him for his first community meeting on Wednesday, March 31. Commissioner Terry will discuss his four priorities around housing, urban agriculture, the environment and what it means to be a welcoming county.

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections meeting for the purpose of conducting its normal monthly business will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. This meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom). Simultaneous public access to the meeting will be available via livestream on DCTV’s UStream channel https://video.ibm.com/channel/dctv-channel-23.

The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance Saturday, March 27, during DeKalb County Government’s monthly food distribution to fight COVID-19 food insecurity. Courtesy of Mr. Bunny, residents will receive a dozen Georgia Grown Grade A eggs, in addition to the normal fare of one 20-pound box of fruit and vegetables and a 10-pound package of chicken hindquarters.
