Peachcrest Road Water Infrastructure Replacement Project Scheduled for Aug. 17

On Tuesday, Aug. 17, DeKalb County and its contractors will repair a leaking 16-inch water line on Peachcrest Road between Maplehurst Drive and Columbia Drive. Work is expected to last approximately four hours, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, that may impact this schedule. Residents and businesses should expect a water outage while the line is replaced on Tuesday, Aug. 17, between 3 and 8 p.m.

DeKalb Offers $100 for Vaccinations at South DeKalb Mall on Saturday, Aug. 14

Eligible residents will receive $100 prepaid debit cards during a COVID-19 vaccination and testing event on Saturday, Aug. 14. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., DeKalb County Board of Health and DeKalb County Fire Rescue will administer voluntary COVID-19 vaccinations to residents 12 years of age and older at The Gallery at South DeKalb, 2801 Candler Rd., Decatur, GA 30034. All persons receiving a vaccination also will receive a $100 prepaid debit card.

Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson Allocates $600,000 to Help DeKalb Residents Stay in Homes

On Aug. 10, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson’s allocation of $600,000 for eviction forbearance and assistance with utilities. This funding allocation is made possible through the American Rescue Plan, signed by President Joe Biden earlier this year.
