Efforts to improve sewer service throughout DeKalb County continue Wednesday, Sept. 15, with the launch of the Tilly Mill Sewer Replacement Project, which will include installation of new, larger sewer lines. Contractors have begun assessing and preparing the impacted areas. More than 4,500 feet of existing 14- and18-inch sewer lines will be upgraded to 24-inch lines.

Today, Aug. 28, DeKalb County, in partnership with the DeKalb County Board of Health and Medcura Health, administered 2,156 COVID-19 vaccinations. The vaccination event featured guest appearances by renowned gospel singer Dottie Peoples, NBA legend Dikembe Motumbo, trumpeter extraordinaire Milkshake Mayfield, and award-winning gospel radio host Larry Tinsley.

DeKalb County has closed the lines for those getting COVID-19 vaccinations today at Stonecrest Mall. Approximately 1,600 people have already been vaccinated during the event and anyone currently in line will be served. The vaccination event has featured guest appearances by renowned gospel singer Dottie Peoples, NBA legend Dikembe Motumbo, trumpeter extraordinaire Milkshake Mayfield, and award-winning gospel radio host Larry Tinsley.

Renowned gospel singer Dottie Peoples entertained approximately 1,900 people waiting to COVID-19 vaccinations at Stonecrest Mall today. Those gathered honked their horns, danced and sang along as Peoples performed several of her popular songs.

NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo is at Stonecrest Mall today where approximately 1,900 people are receiving COVID-19 vaccinations during an event sponsored by DeKalb County Government today. “This about saving lives,” Mutombo said. “We want to keep our community strong. We can beat COVID-19.”
