DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond has extended the five-year-old water service disconnection moratorium for residential water accounts to Sept. 1, 2021. The moratorium was set to expire on July 1. “While the county has addressed the issues that led to the moratorium in 2016, the extension gives customers more time to pay their outstanding bills in full or make payment arrangements,” CEO Thurmond said.

DeKalb County District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson along with DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorrain Cochran Johnson will host a "Don't Wait, Vaccinate" clinic on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will occur at the Lou Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road, Stonecrest, Georgia 30038. The purpose of this event is to continue to encourage citizens to obtain their COVID vaccinations.
