Name: Rockbridge Road Water Main Replacement

Location: Rockbridge Road between Memorial Drive (Stone Mountain) and South Deshon Road (Lithonia)

Cost: $22 million

Project Timeframe: Fall 2017 - Summer 2019

This project will replace 44,000 linear feet or more than seven miles of water main (pipe) along Rockbridge Road from Memorial Drive to South DeShon Road. The Department of Watershed Management is installing a newer eight-inch water main to replace the aging six-inch water main. Meeting future demand for water services, reducing water main breaks and water outages are top benefits of the project. Please note: significant traffic delays are anticipated with this project, which will require traffic lane closures.
