Service Change Highlights

Phase II Highlights

The main focus during Phase II is promoting recycling participation in communities throughout the County.  Advancing the County’s environmental sustainability efforts will continue to be a focus in 2016, and Phase II presents an opportunity to advance these efforts through increased recycling participation.  We encourage you to join over 60,000 DeKalb County residents who currently participate in our single-stream recycling program that recycles more materials than any other recycling program in the state of Georgia.

Additionally, during Phase II, Sanitation Division customers are able to:

Residential customers

Submit a 65-gallon blue recycling roll cart request; a $15 prepaid fee will apply.

Submit rightsizing garbage roll cart requests (switch to/from a 35-, 45-, 65- or 95-gallon green garbage roll cart); a $15 prepaid fee and mandatory recycling subscription will apply for 95-gallon green garbage roll cart requests.

Submit additional green garbage roll cart requests (beyond the one provided during Phase I); prepaid additional annual sanitation assessment fees and mandatory recycling subscription will apply.

Commercial customers

Submit garbage and recycling roll cart requests; prepaid roll cart fees and an increase in monthly sanitation collection fees may apply.

Prepaid fees for all roll cart requests are nonrefundable, and requests will be processed based on cart availability.

Further, changes to garbage and recycling container requirements and procedures will be implemented during this phase.
