Establish Residential Service


A fee-based solid waste service is provided to residents in unincorporated DeKalb and the cities of Brookhaven, Decatur, Doraville, Dunwoody, Lithonia, Pine Lake, Stonecrest, Stone Mountain and Tucker. Annual sanitation assessment fees include weekly garbage, recycling, yard trimmings and bulky item collection.

Payment of feesThe prorated annual sanitation assessment fee MUST be paid prior to roll cart delivery and receiving service.
If a recycling roll cart upgrade is required at the time of establishing service, two separate payments MUST be completed to establish new residential service, i.e., prorated annual sanitation assessment fee AND one-time $25 prepaid roll cart fee.
 
Additional roll cartsOnce a new residential sanitation account is established, property owners can request an additional 95-gallon garbage roll cart AND additional blue recycling roll carts. This will result in an increase in annual sanitation assessment fees.

Sanitation Residential Annual Assessment Fees

Garbage Roll Cart



New customers receive a standard 95-gallon garbage roll cart. All new customers MUST pay the prorated residential annual assessment fee in order to establish a new account and receive service. Once a new account is established, property owners can request an additional 95-gallon roll cart, which will require an increase in annual sanitation assessment fees. 
 

Recycling Roll Cart



Participation in the residential single-stream recycling program is optional and included in the annual sanitation assessment fee. Residents can request a standard complimentary 45-gallon roll cart OR upgrade to a 65-gallon roll cart for a one-time $25 prepaid roll cart fee.
