Police Records provides police and Fire/EMS reports along with background checks and other services. 

Background check/criminal history, records restrictions and inspections of records are by appointment or by mail only. 

In-person appointments are available on Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. –
3:30 p.m.

  BACKGROUND CHECK/CRIMINAL HISTORY  
 

You may contact us via email at CriminalHistoryCheck@dekalbcountyga.gov to request a background check.

  • We will send you a form to fill out, which must be returned with payment.
  • You must enclose a copy of your valid Government-issued ID card, passport or driver’s license with the form and payment.
 
  RECORD RESTRICTIONS (FORMERLY EXPUNGEMENTS)

  • Police Incident/Accident Reports are available in approximately three to five (3-5) business days .
  • Fire/EMS Reports are available in approximately five (5) business days.
