COMPLAINTS
Our goal is to provide services to the citizens of DeKalb County courteously and professionally. In order to maintain our high professional standards the Department accepts:
- Questions or complaints about an employee’s actions or performance
There are two methods for filing a complaint. The first is to contact the employee’s immediate supervisor. This can be accomplished by driving to, or telephoning the precinct or office where they work. The supervisor will speak with you about your complaint and answer any questions that you may have. Please be mindful that police officers work various shifts and are frequently not in the office. It may be necessary for you to leave a message and have your phone call returned.
The second method is to contact the Internal Affairs Unit so that you may speak with a detective about your concerns or allegations. You may do this either by phone or in person at the Internal Affairs Office, which is located at Police Headquarters. The Internal Affairs Unit is responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct by both sworn and non-sworn employees within the Police Department.
