Martha Revelo is the Chief of Intergovernmental Relations. Revelo possesses a wealth of knowledge across federal, state, and local government. Revelo will facilitate collaboration, coordinate policy initiatives, and advocate for county interests to build relationships with local municipalities and government officials, while monitoring legislation and navigating complex intergovernmental dynamics to achieve identified outcomes. She oversees Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs), attends municipal meetings, and serves as the official representative for the DeKalb Municipal Association, where she works alongside DeKalb's twelve municipalities to ensure proper intergovernmental relations between municipalities and DeKalb County.
As the former Associate Director for Government Affairs for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), Revelo represented over 800 commissioners from Georgia's 159 counties. She has led numerous legislative committees and has extensive knowledge of advocating before state and federal governments and agencies.
Revelo was the former Northeast Outreach Director for United States Senator Raphael Warnock. She is the first Latina to hold this position for a U.S. Georgia Senator. As an Atlanta native from Salvadoran parents, Martha is a lifelong community advocate who has been a champion of advancing opportunities for communities across the State of Georgia. Throughout her career, Martha has collaborated with organizations, stakeholders, and federal, state, and local governments to engage and sustain a pipeline of opportunities for hundreds of projects, including education and workforce initiatives.
Revelo's advocacy has resulted in a $4 million earmark to revitalize the Rome and Richardson Historic neighborhood in the City of Hartwell, the largest earmark investment in Northeast Georgia. Martha championed the first federal congressional directed spending (CDS) earmark to the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Ser Familia representing a historic achievement in the Hispanic community of Georgia.
Martha's influence and dedication have earned her recognition as one of the 50 most influential Latinos in Georgia in 2022 and 2023. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners proclaimed a "Martha Revelo Appreciation Day" in honor of her commitment and service to the community where she grew up. During the 2022 legislative session, Martha was commended by the Georgia State House of Representatives for her leadership and commitment. She was chosen among ten distinguished individuals for Outstanding Atlanta's 2022 cohort, recognizing extraordinary leadership across Metro Atlanta. Martha holds a Master's Degree in Political Science for Professional and Internation Politics and a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Political Science for International Relations from Georgia State University.
