Intern FAQs

Q: Who is qualified to apply for "DeKalb Works?"
A: Any DeKalb resident ages 14 to 24. Applications are reviewed and accepted on a first-come first-served basis. 

Q: How long does the program run?
A: The program begins Monday, June 4, and ends Friday, July 27.

Q: How many hours per week do interns work, and how much do they get paid?
A: Interns will work up to 20 hours per week for $9 an hour.

Worksite FAQs

Q: What are the benefits of signing up as a worksite?
A: Interns are provided at no cost to the worksite; WorkSource DeKalb covers all intern payroll and workers' compensation. Interns will receive work-readiness training and complete an interview before beginning job assignments. Additionally, this investment in the county's youth with help shape DeKalb's future workforce.
