Community Rating System

DeKalb County is proud to be a participating community in the Community Rating System (CRS).  The CRS identifies and encourages floodplain management activities that surpass the National Flood Insurance Program standards.

CRS INVOLVEMENT

• Reduces damages to property and public infrastructure
• Avoids economic costs
• Reduces human suffering.

DEKALB COUNTY CURRENTLY HOLDS A CRS SCORE OF 7. 

This ensures that property owners within the 100 year floodplain are eligible for a 15% discount on their flood insurance premium.  Property owners outside of the 100 year floodplain are eligible for a 5% discount on their flood insurance premium.
