Mission Statement
The Property Appraisal & Assessment Department is responsible for the annual valuation of all taxable real and personal property in DeKalb County and producing a timely, equitable and acceptable tax digest for DeKalb County that meets all state statutes and legal requirements of the Georgia Department of Revenue.

You are hereby notified (and should communicate this notification to any other occupants of your property) that pursuant to O.C.G.A. 48-5-264.1 (a), representatives of the DeKalb Property Appraisal Department, with proper ID, may enter upon your property during normal business hours, for the purposes of collecting accurate data or any verifications thereof due to any permits issued, return of value filing, revaluations (partial or whole), parcel sales, and appeal reviews. Please contact our office if you have questions.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 48-5-311(e)(3)(B), the DeKalb Board of Assessors is granted an additional 180 days to review and respond to 2024 appeals of value or exemption denial. The additional 180 days will commence November 28, 2024. The statute provides the additional time to counties in which the number of appeals exceeds 3 percent of the total number of parcels.
