DECATUR, Ga. – The Department of Watershed Management (DWM) recently repaired a 48-inch water transmission main that was damaged by the work of a contractor.
On July 14, a contractor was installing fiber optic cable and struck the crown of the county’s 48-inch water main on Henderson Mill Road. The damaged pipe was repaired when watershed department staff completed a planned repair in the early hours of July 21.
“All work was completed on this major water line without major service disruption,” DWM Director Scott Towler said. “Through the combined efforts of our team, DWM repaired the damage done by a contractor and our customers were not impacted.”
