DeKalb County Hosts Nigeria Men’s Soccer Team. Exhibition scheduled for July 16

DECATUR, GA. – DeKalb County Interim CEO Lee May and the Board of Commissioners recognized the 2016 Nigerian Men’s Soccer Team with a proclamation.

The Nigerian team will compete in an exhibition game on Saturday, July 16, at 8 p.m. The game will be held in DeKalb County at 3200 Atlanta Silverbacks Way, Atlanta, GA 30340, near the intersection of I-285 and I-85.

 “We are honored that the Nigerian men’s soccer team chose DeKalb County as its practice site for the Rio Olympics,” DeKalb ICEO May said. “DeKalb County is an international community and it is our pleasure to contribute to these international games by hosting this team.”

DeKalb County is hosting the team as it prepares for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August. The Nigerian Olympic men’s soccer team won a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
