DECATUR, Ga.— DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis returned to work today, amid welcomes from elected officials, constituents, friends and staff. CEO Ellis began the morning with a press conference outlining his plans through the end of the year.
“I’m savoring the moment, enjoying the day and can’t wait to be among the constituents,” CEO Ellis said. “We’re going to be sure the trains run on time, be prepared for any emergency and ensure a smooth transition.”
CEO Ellis recognized and thanked his many supporters for standing by him. He plans to focus on the 2017 budget and manage a smooth transition for CEO-elect Michael Thurmond.
